Zuffa Boxing 5 Cortes vs Garcia Match Detail on SportFeed

Andres Cortes maintained his perfect professional record by defeating Eridson Garcia via unanimous decision on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Cortes’s objective of frustrating the counter-puncher was evident from the opening bell; he used a persistent jab and clever feints to prevent Garcia from finding a rhythm.

Despite a point deduction for Garcia in the fourth round for excessive holding, the Dominican remained competitive, though he struggled to match Cortes’s work rate. The judges scored the contest 97-92, 96-93, and 95-94, reflecting a fight that grew more physical in the later rounds as Cortes began to find a home for his right hand.

In the co-main event, former world champion Mark Magsayo made a successful lightweight debut, stopping Feargal McCrory via TKO in the fifth round. The victory propels Cortes to 25-0 and positions him as the likely frontrunner for the first Zuffa Boxing Lightweight Championship.
