Report

The formidable layout of Quail Hollow Club showed its teeth during a demanding second round at the Truist Championship, transforming the leaderboard into a tightly packed battleground of patience and strategic recovery. Demonstrating spectacular composure amid tightening course conditions, Norway's Kristoffer Reitan backed up his opening-day brilliance with a highly efficient, steady under-par loop to maintain his firm grip on the top of the scoreboard.

Reitan's exceptional precision off the tee kept him completely out of the thick Charlotte rough, allowing him to systematically protect his advantage as the greens firmed up. He faced a fierce afternoon push from an inspired Rickie Fowler, who delighted the gallery by executing a series of spectacular approach shots and rolling in multiple mid-range birdier putts to climb into a direct share of the lead.

Right on their heels, Denmark's Nicolai Højgaard and England's Alex Fitzpatrick put together brilliant, error-free displays of iron control to embed themselves deeply into the chasing pack, keeping the pressure at an absolute maximum. Meanwhile, J.J.

Spaun weathered a handful of back-nine errors to remain well within striking distance, while international standouts Tommy Fleetwood and Sungjae Im matched each other stroke for stroke down the stretch to safely anchor their positions for the weekend trophy hunt.
