Chandler Blanchet continued his sensational form at Grand Reserve, carding a 5-under-par 67 to reach 13-under-par and build a commanding four-stroke lead at the halfway point. Blanchet, who had missed his first five cuts of the season, found his rhythm by birdieing all the par-5s on Friday.
His 36-hole total of 131 matched the tournament record for the largest lead at this stage, positioning the PGA TOUR rookie as the clear favorite heading into the weekend. The leaderboard is a mix of veteran talent and youth.
Gordon Sargent remains in solo second at 9-under-par after a gritty 70, while 18-year-old Blades Brown carded a 67 to join a tie for third at 8-under alongside Ricky Castillo, Jeremy Paul, and Jesper Svensson. A standout storyline belongs to John Daly II, who fired a bogey-free 5-under-par 67 in his professional debut to sit in a tie for 7th at 7-under.
