Fabio Di Giannantonio secured his third career MotoGP pole position in dramatic fashion, topping the Q2 session at the inaugural Brazilian Grand Prix. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 rider, who successfully navigated his way through Q1 alongside Marco Bezzecchi, clocked a blistering 1:17.410 on his final flying lap.
His performance denied Marco Bezzecchi a fairytale comeback to pole, as the Aprilia rider had to settle for second place, missing out by a mere 0.070 seconds. The session was marked by high-speed drama as riders pushed the limits on the deteriorating track surface.
Marc Márquez secured the final spot on the front row despite a low-side crash at Turn 4 late in the session, while Fabio Quartararo delivered a standout performance for Yamaha to take fourth. Further down the order, Francesco Bagnaia struggled to find a rhythm, qualifying a disappointing 11th, while rookie Ai Ogura impressed by taking sixth for Trackhouse Racing.
The session concluded under yellow flags as both Jorge Martín and Di Giannantonio crashed in the final seconds while attempting to improve their times.
