After holding the lead since Thursday morning, Berger carded a closing 71 to finish at 14-under, securing a two-stroke victory and the iconic red cardigan. While the greens at Bay Hill reached a level of difficulty that many players compared to a Major championship, Berger’s iron play remained surgical.
His defining moment came at the par-3 17th, where he stuck an 8-iron to six feet and converted the birdie to effectively end the challenge from the chasing pack. The final round saw a leaderboard shuffle as the "Arnie's Place" greens took their toll.
Akshay Bhatia pushed Berger to the limit for much of the afternoon but was ultimately undone by a costly bogey on the 15th, finishing solo second at 12-under. Ludvig Åberg and Collin Morikawa shared third place at 10-under after both fired low rounds of the day (69) to move up the standings.
Cameron Young and Sahith Theegala rounded out the top five, while Scottie Scheffler salvaged a top-20 finish with a late birdie run. The week was also marked by the high-profile withdrawal of Rory McIlroy due to back spasms, leaving the stage entirely to Berger, who now vaults into the top 10 of the FedExCup standings.
